Motivation
Gauntlet is an active delegate, partner, and stakeholder of the Arbitrum ecosystem. Our mission is to enable blockchain ecosystems to realize their full potential by creating software and technology to measure and accelerate growth, enhance ecosystem efficiency, and bolster overall utility for their users. Experience
Gauntlet is a DeFi-native quantitative research firm specializing in treasury and risk management, incentive optimization, and mechanism design. We apply battle-tested techniques from the algorithmic trading industry to assist protocols in managing risk, optimizing revenue, and designing superior incentives. Our simulation models inform parameter decisions for protocols of all sizes, collectively covering over 25% of aggregate DeFi TVL.

Ryan is a cybersecurity leader with 5 yrs experience safeguarding blockchain and 15 yrs in Web2 cyber security. Ryan served as Head of Security at Gauntlet, Scroll, and Polygon Labs, and as VP of Security at Coinsquare, where he led threat intel, IR, fraud prevention, and secops protecting crypto ecosystems. As Founder of SEAL-ISAC, he advanced collective defense against cyber threats to DeFi networks. His work focused on mitigating risks to decentralized protocols, securing digital assets, and shaping governance. Additionally, Ryan holds a Ph.D. in AI and has published research in intelligent systems, providing a deep technical foundation at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity. With a strong command of multiple programming languages and practical experience building and auditing complex systems, he brings both strategic vision and hands-on technical expertise. Ryan is backed byGauntlet’s team of engineers and data scientists supporting technical diligence or requirements.

Gauntlet is an active governance participant in many ecosystems and is on the Security Council of other Ethereum chains, including Scroll, Arbitrum, and Polygon. Gauntlet is also an active delegate in Morpho, Uniswap, Optimism, Arbitrum, Jito, and Compound.
