Motivation

Crypto is like open source. There may not be a killer app for blockchain but it's good to have credibly neutral alternatives.

Ethereum is great but it's expensive for day to day transactions. Arbitrum solves this problem. It beat everyone to market and has been innovating and evolving ever since, including the creation of the Security Council. What I like about about Arbitrum is that they've been the most professional (compared to some competitor).

A security council should consist of geographically diverse members and some of them should be technical. I have the skills, motivation and availability to be an independent voice on the the Arbitrum Security Council.

Experience

I am not a member of the Rocket Pool Oracle DAO (it's responsible for contract upgrades in addition to oracle duties) but I've been acting as one.

I've done independent verification of their Atlas upgrade:

Upgrade payload verification https://dao.rocketpool.net/t/odao-membership-interest-peteris/1654/6

Upgrade contract code verification on Etherscan https://dao.rocketpool.net/t/odao-membership-interest-peteris/1654/8

Upgrade contract bytecode verification https://dao.rocketpool.net/t/odao-membership-interest-peteris/1654/13

I've also done independent verification of the watchtower component of the Smartnode software (it's written in Go) https://dao.rocketpool.net/t/odao-membership-interest-peteris/1654/17

You can expect similar reviews for Arbitrum from me if elected.

Fun fact: I've been interested in optimistic fraud proofs since the launch of Truebit in May, 2021. I reverse engineered the token contract which was using the bonding curve (it was unverified and no source was available), built an explorer for it as well as played around building small things in C++ and QuickJS and got them compiled to WebAssembly. I then tried to break the fraud proofs. I was around when Arbitrum launched with optimistic fraud proofs and later switched to WebAssembly.
