Candidate Profile

Security Council election candidate

Pablo Sabbatella (pablito.eth)

Head Security @ Blockfence

Individual

Motivation

I am fully committed to improving the security of the ecosystem. I am totally convinced that security is the biggest issue the industry is facing right now and that it can be a cause for its failure. I know for sure that my knowledge and experience will be valuable in order to protect Arbitrum’s infrastructure, team and community. I am fully doxxed and dedicate lots of resources to talk about the Web3 ecosystem for my Twitter account with 67K followers, most from Latam.

Experience

I have been involved in Cybersecurity since I was 15 years old (39 years now) and I am also passionate about economics and technology: that mix led me to dedicate myself completely to Blockchain Security.

Nowadays I am Head of Security Research at Blockfence and I am also a member of SEAL (https://securityalliance.org)

My main focus is Opsec: what practices, processes and tools need to be applied in order to avoid getting hacked at the human and infrastructure level.

  • Zero-day exploits, Social Engineering, Private-keys management, Secure devices, VMs, Multisigs, Physical security, Data retention and backup, Email & Phone security, OSINT, Secure Browsing, Malware, Firewalls, Secure messaging channels, hardware wallets, etc.

I have a deep knowledge of how most of the teams are nowadays being compromised at the human level and using that in order to scam or steal from users: stealing private keys, hijacking Twitter, Telegram and Discord accounts, repositories, domains, etc.

Cybersecurity

I have been involved in cybersecurity and Opsec since I was 15 years old (more than 20 years) In the early 2000s I founded one of the biggest Cybersecurity portals (Hackemate), I have given many talks and participated of panels at different conferences about Blockchain Security and related topics (ETH Latam, LaBitConf, Ethereum Argentina, EthCC, etc), created one of the best Blockchain Opsec Security courses (with a framework) through Defy Education, trained and audited many companie’s employees and crypto OGs regarding their security and processes. Also give talks and consultancy to tech companies about Opsec. I know what steps have to be done in order to: avoid being targets and then, in case you are a target, avoid being hacked. I am also a member of Security Alliance, also known as SEAL, where we coordinate solutions for different security incidents in blockchain (ranging from a DeFi hacks, whitehat's reports, users getting wallets drained or keys stolen, etc.

Can independently verify multisig transactions
