Jack Sanford
CEO/Co-Founder of Sherlock
Motivation
I’m driven to join the Arbitrum Security Council by my passion for securing decentralized systems. I've demonstrated this through my 4 years as the CEO and Co-Founder of Sherlock, where I’ve honed my knowledge of smart contract auditing and Web3 security. I've helped advise and secure over 100 of the biggest DeFi projects in the space, advised Arbitrum’s audit processes, and been a first responder in high-stakes governance and incident response situations. I wrote one of the first security-related posts on the ArbitrumDAO and advised on the creation of the ADPC since Day 1. I want to see Arbitrum succeed and would be honored to play a role in helping to secure it.
Experience
My experience as the CEO and Co-Founder of Sherlock means I've been in high-stakes situations with the top protocol teams in the space for 4 years. I’ve pioneered cutting-edge smart contract auditing techniques and developed economic incentives to protect billions in total value locked across ecosystems like Arbitrum and Ethereum for high-profile projects such as Aave V3 and GMX. Beyond that, I currently serve as a multi-sig signer for critical crypto projects. I've been the first responder for protocols and set up their war rooms. I'm proficient in exploit mitigation exercises and funds recovery efforts. I've advised on governance frameworks for DAOs to ensure rapid, security-focused decision-making. My contributions to Arbitrum’s ecosystem stand out, from writing one of the first audit proposals for the ArbitrumDAO 1.5 years ago, to helping shape the ADPC’s audit grant process, which has enticed dozens of teams to deploy on Arbitrum.
